Ricky’s Place grew from personal family caregiving experience. After seeing how difficult it could be to find a setting that felt safe, personal and genuinely caring, the mission became simple: create the kind of home we would want for our own family.

What is a care home?
A care home is a residential setting for adults who benefit from support with everyday routines while living in a comfortable home environment. At Ricky’s Place, support may include help with dressing, bathing, grooming, meals, housekeeping, laundry, mobility, toileting and medication reminders, based on each resident’s needs.
How is a care home different from a nursing home or skilled nursing facility?
A nursing home or skilled nursing facility provides a higher level of medical and nursing care. Ricky’s Place is a non-medical residential care home. We focus on day-to-day support, comfort, meals, routines, companionship and a home-like environment. A needs assessment helps families determine whether our setting is appropriate for their loved one.
How is a care home different from home care?
Home care brings a caregiver into a person’s existing home for scheduled periods of support. A residential care home provides a place to live with staff presence around the clock, meals, daily support and opportunities for social connection in the same setting.
When should a family consider residential care?
Families often begin exploring residential care when everyday tasks become harder to manage safely or consistently. Common concerns include difficulty with personal care or housekeeping, missed meals, medication-reminder needs, isolation, mobility changes, transportation challenges, memory changes or caregiver exhaustion.
How do I pay for care at Ricky’s Place?
Ricky’s Place is private pay. We do not accept Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance as payment for residency. Fees depend on the room and the resident’s level of day-to-day support. Contact us for current availability, pricing and the assessment process.
Do you offer short-term respite stays?
Yes. Respite care gives family caregivers a temporary break while their loved one stays in a supportive residential setting. Short-term stays can also be useful during transitions or when a family needs additional support for a limited period.
What support is available for residents with additional structure and routine?
We provide a calm, consistent environment with familiar routines, personal attention, daily engagement and support with everyday activities. Families should discuss a resident’s specific needs with us so we can determine whether Ricky’s Place is an appropriate setting.
What activities are available?
Activities are designed to encourage movement, engagement and connection. Depending on residents’ interests and abilities, this can include exercise, games, music, movies, conversation, community involvement and local outings.
